What is Save Our Summer?
Your participation in the Save our Summer (SOS) 2008 program will help ensure that an adequate blood supply will be
available this summer to those who need it. This is a fun program for you - our dedicated high school students. Your
leadership and organization skills are tools you'll need to make you Save our Summer blood drive a positive experience
for your donors, perhaps making many of them donors for life. Florida Blood Services believes that, with your support,
we will be prepared to meet the blood needs of the patients in our community!
How do you qualify to enter Save Our Summer?
Save Our Summer 2008 drives will be held between June 1 and August 15. Florida Blood Services will have a drawing for
scholarships for any student that plans and organizes a successful Save Our Summer blood drive! To qualify for the
scholarship drawings, a student must plan and organize a blood drive that collects a minimum of 40 units of blood
($1,000 scholarship) or a drive that collects a minimum of 25 units of blood ($500 scholarship) from volunteer donors.
