Blood Donors Keep Families Smiling!
|
Ten year old Morgan was born prematurely at 34 weeks when her mother
Shelby developed HELLP syndrome (Hemolytic anemia Elevated Liver enzymes
and Low Platelet count). Mom’s blood counts were crashing so she was
rushed from the delivery hospital to a trauma center. Once her condition
was diagnosed, she immediately received multiple red blood cell and platelet
transfusions to survive. Today they are the rest of their family are
celebrating second chances made possible in part by volunteer blood donors.
