Collect the Blood Nearly 1,000 volunteer blood donors are needed every day to meet the blood needs of the communities served by Florida Blood Services. It takes a tremendous amount of outreach, a large bloodmobile fleet and a vast number of donor rooms to welcome these community heroes.	Safeguard Donors and Patients Bedside care, donor comfort, disaster relief items, cutting-edge equipment and technologies all play a role in the blood supply on which your family, friends and neighbors depend.	Educate and Advance Transfusion Medicine FBS offers many educational programs to the community, spreading the word about the importance of blood donation. FBS also provides professional medical training, performs research to advance transfusion medicine and works in collaboration with major universities and international organizations to ensure blood is a safe lifesaving resource available when you or your loved one needs it.
